My name is Cecilie and I’m the founder of Its May, a small fashion brand I started in May 2020 after dreaming about it forever.
Its May is inspired by the endless summers of Australia with great fits, cute colors and unique prints that will last for years to come has us dreaming of summer.
For me, May is the month of dreams. The winter is finally over, the excitement of summer is around the corner, everything is coming alive and joy for life is bubbling inside of us.
I want to capture that exact feeling in every style I design and inspire women to have the confidence to be their most happy selves and go after their dreams.
I want our pieces to be the favorite items in your wardrobe that you feel great about wearing. The special items I felt were missing from my own wardrobe and put them in to yours.
Demand driven fashion
When we first introduce a new style, we only produce 30 to 100 pieces to see the demand and avoid waste and overproduction. Once we see the response from our customers, we are able to safely produce a higher quantity of the styles in high demand. On top of that, around 60% of our fabrics are leftovers from previous production.
Cutting out the middleman
ItsMay is a direct-to-consumer brand. We’ve cut out all the middlemen and fashion fat - putting our entire focus on building collections that are made to last. Fewer pieces, more love: Bypassing wholesale distribution, skipping discounts and sales, we create lasting quality at the right price.
Our factories have been carefully chosen to guarantee high-quality standards from quality workmanship, respecting working conditions, premium fabrics research, and to improve on knowledge and technology.
